With good care, a dental bridge can last 10 years or more, although this varies from patient to patient. Brushing twice daily, cleaning carefully underneath the bridge and attending regular check-ups will all help it last as long as possible.
It’s normal to need a few days to adjust to a new bridge. Once you’re used to it, most patients find their bridge feels comfortable and allows them to eat and speak normally. Your dentist will check the fit carefully and make adjustments if needed.
You’ll need to brush your bridge as you would your natural teeth, and clean underneath it daily using floss, interdental brushes or another tool your dentist recommends. This helps prevent plaque build-up around the supporting teeth and gums.
