FAQs

Things patients often ask.

Are you accepting NHS patients?

Quayside Dental Centre provides NHS dental care as part of a commissioned service from NHS Gloucestershire.

We work with local community partners and referral organisations to improve access to routine NHS dental care for people who may experience barriers to accessing dental services.

As a result, routine NHS dental appointments are not available to everyone and are provided in line with NHS commissioning criteria and service capacity.

How do I access routine NHS dental care at Quayside Dental Centre?

Routine NHS dental care is provided through commissioned programmes and referral pathways designed to support specific groups of patients.

If you have been directed to Quayside Dental Centre by one of our community partners or referral organisations, please complete our online enquiry form here or contact the practice for further information.

Does completing the online enquiry form guarantee an appointment?

No. Submitting an enquiry form does not guarantee an appointment.

All enquiries are reviewed against the eligibility criteria of the commissioned service and appointments are subject to availability.

What happens after I complete the enquiry form?

A member of our team will review your information in line with NHS Gloucestershire commissioning criteria. Due to the high volume of enquiries we receive, we will only contact you if you are eligible for an appointment and we are able to offer you care.

If you are eligible, a member of our team will be in touch regarding appointment availability.

Why can’t everyone access routine NHS dental care at Quayside Dental Centre?

Quayside Dental Centre has been commissioned by NHS Gloucestershire to provide targeted NHS dental services for people who may otherwise struggle to access care.

The services we provide, and the patients we are able to see, are determined by NHS commissioning arrangements. This means we are unable to offer routine NHS dental appointments to everyone seeking care.

How do I access urgent dental treatment?

If you have an urgent dental problem please contact NHS 111.

NHS 111 will assess your needs and direct you to the most appropriate urgent dental service if required.
