Access to routine NHS dental care.

Quayside Dental Centre has been commissioned by NHS Gloucestershire to help improve access to NHS dental care for people who may otherwise experience barriers to accessing services.

As part of this commission, we work closely with local community partners and referral organisations to support specific groups of patients who are most at risk of poor oral health and who may find it difficult to access routine dental care through traditional routes.

What we provide

What is routine care?

Routine dental care is a proactive, preventive approach to oral health. It typically involves visits for professional examinations, cleanings, and X-rays to prevent tooth decay, catch gum disease early, and maintain a healthy smile.

NHS Dental Charges

Quayside Dental Centre provides NHS dental treatment, with charges set nationally by the NHS.

The cost of treatment depends on the care you need.

Band 1
£27.90Band 1 can include:
Examination, assessment and advice (a routine dental appointment)
X-rays, if clinically needed
Putting fluoride on the surface of your teeth
Simple management of gum disease, such as scaling (a thorough clean of your teeth and gums), if clinically needed
Moulds of your teeth, for example to see how your teeth bite together
Minimal adjustments to false teeth (dentures) or orthodontic appliances, such as braces – for example, smoothing rough parts or tightening clasps

How do I find out if I’m eligible for routine NHS care at Quayside Dental Centre?

Quayside Dental Centre’s routine NHS appointments are offered through referral from approved community partners and referral organisations, in line with NHS Gloucestershire commissioning criteria. If you’ve been referred to us, you can complete our online enquiry form to be considered for an appointment.

What is included in routine NHS dental care?

Routine NHS dental care covers services such as check-ups, fillings, extractions and other general treatments needed to maintain your oral health, with charges set nationally by the NHS. Your dentist will discuss your individual treatment needs and any charges that apply.

How often will I be seen for routine NHS dental care?

Following your assessment, your dentist will advise when your next appointment should be, based on your individual oral health needs and NHS commissioning guidelines. This may vary from patient to patient.
